I Believe God, and I Stand with Israel

Dear Friend,

I heard so many heartbreaking stories while I was in Israel.

I held weeping families in my arms and prayed with them.

I talked to people who didn’t know if their loved ones were alive or dead.

I comforted elderly Holocaust survivors who have PTSD from “never again” happening again.

My friend Rabbi Israel Goldstein, who was shot when his synagogue in California was attacked by a violent anti-Semite, said to me, “I don’t know any person who was a victim of anti-Semitism that does more to combat anti-Semitism than you, Mike.”

He knew my story of unspeakable abuse by my Jew-hating father and my attempt to defend my Jewish mother. And he knew that my great grandfather Rabbi Mikhail Katz-Nelson, for whom I was named, was burned to death in his synagogue with 2,000 Jews.

Out of the prison of my pain came power, purpose, and passion.

Jesus appeared to me when I was 11 and said “Son, I love you and have a great plan for your life.”

That night changed by life forever, and it happened moments after my father strangled me and left me for dead.

I am the most blessed man I know because I have a God-given cause greater than myself.

And I am so grateful that you are part of this amazing work to bless and defend the Jewish people.

I heard some amazing stories in Israel, and I want to share those with you and talk to you about the importance and power of faith.

One story was of a woman, a Believer who lived in one of the kibbutzim that was attacked by the terrorists. She lifted her hands and declared in the mighty name of the Lord that God would blind their eyes. She was in one room, her mother was in a second room, and her daughter was in a third room.

The terrorists didn’t open any of their doors, nor did they fire through them.

The family was all spared.

Another woman was in Jerusalem when a group of terrorist gunmen started shooting at people. When they pointed their guns in her direction, she shouted out loud in Hebrew, “The Lord will keep you from all harm — He will watch over your life” (Psalm 121:7).

Shockingly, not a bullet touched her.

A young solider told of a late night search through an area used as a base by the terrorists. When he saw a dove flying toward him, he thought he was hallucinating because he had hardly slept in the past two days.

The dove stopped in midair, not flapping its wings. When he stuck up his rifle to poke at the dove, he realized it was sitting on a tripwire connected to an IED.

His entire unit could have been killed when the C4 exploded if he had walked into the tripwire, but they were all spared.

Another soldier was getting ready to eat a can of tuna fish. He took some oil and lit a match to warm the tuna fish, and instead, it caught on fire. He threw it by reflex, not knowing there was a terrorist tunnel near him packed with explosives.

It blew up the explosives, and all the surviving terrorists came out of the tunnel, surrendering because of a can of tuna fish.

Why am I sharing these stories with you?

Because they demonstrate how God is able to work in response to our faith. I’m sharing these stories because they demonstrate the power of prayer.

My beloved friend and partner, there is far more than just a physical battle taking place.

That battle is real, and I’ve seen firsthand the devastation and destruction on my four trips to Israel since the war started. But there is another battle raging…the spirit war…and it is even more important than the physical battle.

No battle can be won in the physical realm until it is first fought and won in the spirit realm.

That is why what we are doing is so vitally important.

As part of the Jerusalem Prayer Team, you are on the frontlines defending the whole nation of Israel.

Your faithful and fervent prayers to a God who works miracles are making a difference.

And I want to encourage you not only to pray for Israel and the peace of Jerusalem, but for your own needs as well.

I’ve heard from a number of friends recently that they are facing major mountains in their lives.

I have told each one two things. First, keep praying…don’t give up until God sends the answer. Second, I will pray for you and with you.

I want to tell you those same two things.

Persistent, faithful, repeated prayer brings answers, so do not become discouraged as you pray. And if you will share your request with me on the form below, I will faithfully join you in the prayer of faith for the miracle you need.

And I’m asking for your help with meeting the urgent needs of the precious families, Holocaust survivors, children, and more who are suffering in Israel.

What friends like you have already done is amazing, and it has been a light of love to the entire nation.

There is a reason people are turning to your Friends of Zion Center for help…and we must be able to continue to say yes to them.

I’m asking you today to rush your generous, Holy Spirit-led offering of love for the Lord and for His Chosen People.

Your gift will be food for the hungry, medicine for the sick, clothes for those who have lost everything they own, a safe place to stay for people who have no home, and so much more.

Your gift will be the hands and feet of God’s love in action…and an unmistakable light and witness of Christian love for the Jewish people.

The needs are urgent. So many are crying out for help.

What you do today will bring hope and healing to broken hearts in Israel.

Please let me hear from you right away.

The war has been going on for more than three months, and the toll continues to grow.

We are doing all we can to help, but we simply can’t do it without the support of friends like you.

Thank you in advance for your generous response. God bless you.

Your ambassador to Jerusalem,

Dr. Mike Evans

P.S. Please don’t forget to share your prayer request with me along with your gift. I believe we are going to see God do some truly amazing things as we join together in prayer.  And please be as generous as you can with your gift. The people of Israel need us now more than ever, and we must be there for them.
