Together, we can win the spiritual battle

Dear Friend,

I’m preparing to leave for the airport to fly to Israel, but I can’t go without sharing my heart with you.

My heart is breaking as I write this to you.

I have on my desk a picture of Hersh Goldberg-Polin, the 23-year-old hostage who was brutally murdered by Hamas as IDF soldiers were about to rescue him and several others.

We are working with his family and the families of the other hostages still being held to help in every way we can.

There are still around 100 hostages unaccounted for, and no one knows for sure how many of them are alive.

For almost a year, they’ve been held — elderly men and women, young people, and even children.

Their families are living in torment and dread.

At any moment they could get the phone call letting them know the loved one for whom they have been praying is gone.

I encourage you to keep praying for these precious people…both the hostages and their loved ones, and for all the people of Israel who are under attack and facing deadly threats every day.

I’m encouraging you to keep praying because this is not just a physical battle. There is a spirit war taking place.

And one of the most important truths I’ve ever learned is that no victory is ever won in the physical realm until the battle is first fought and won in the spiritual realm.

The massacre of October 7 could have been prevented — not by better military intelligence, better forts, and more alert soldiers, but by prayer.

It could have been prevented by a massive battle in prayer, binding demon spirits, principalities, and powers.

The Jerusalem Prayer Team is the largest prayer movement in the history of the world…but we must do more.

The truth is that the destiny — not just of Israel but of our nation and the entire world — will be determined by the power of prayer. Satan is doing everything in his power to keep God’s people from praying. We must not let him win.

I’m sure you remember what happened a few years ago during the last Gaza war.

We were preparing to host a global prayer event with Franklin Graham, Mike Huckabee, Gordon Robertson, Matt Crouch, Robert Jeffress, Jack Graham, and many other leaders.

I was actually on the plane on my way to Israel for the event when I was notified that Facebook had shut us down.

As part of a coordinated attack, more than 2 million vile and anti-Semitic posts were put up on our website in a 72-hour period by radical Islamists. They included death threats, foul language, and vile hatred.

Mark Zuckerberg blamed us for it and shut us down.

Eventually, we had to go to court to fight this decision. But even when they caved and reinstated our pages on social media, they removed more than 47 million intercessors and refused to put them back.

This was Satan’s effort to cripple this great worldwide prayer movement. He did not succeed then, and we must not let him succeed now.

That’s one of the reasons we are launching the Jerusalem World Prayer Center. We are not going to let anyone have the power to shut down our prayer networks.

Being able to mobilize intercessors in real time to respond to crisis moments will save lives. And that’s what we are in the process of building right now…and I need your help.

The JWPC will be a global headquarters for prayer.

It will bring together Believers from around the world to pray for the peace of Jerusalem and the protection of Israel.

It will also be a place where you can share your own prayer needs and know that other prayer warriors are standing with you in whatever battle you are facing.

And it will be a center of help and hope for the suffering people of Israel.

We will have a HOPE line — a spiritual version of 9-1-1 — that Jewish people can call if they need help or prayer. We will be able to connect people who are hurting with the resources to help them.

If Israel ever needed hope, it is right now with the threat of Iran’s nuclear cloud looming over the nation.

Your Friends of Zion Center is already known across the land of Israel as a beacon of hope, and now we are going to make the light of Christian love shine more brightly than ever.

As I told you, I am on my way to Israel…in fact, by the time you get this letter, I will be there to host the Global Solidarity Event for Israel on October 7, which the government of Israel asked us to host.

A number of the hostage families will be with us, and you will be able to see that on our social media platforms. We have not yet raised all the funds needed for this event, so if you can help, it would be an answer to prayer.

I need you to stand with us and support these precious people. If you have a heart, if you have a soul, if you have ears or eyes or any degree of compassion, you won’t close your eyes or ears to the suffering of these precious people.

And while the screams of demonstrators are being heard in support of Hamas, you and I have to speak out.

What I am asking you to do is show your love, compassion, concern, and care for the suffering Jewish people in action.

We can’t do what God is calling us to do without your help.

And the urgent need for the launch of the JWPC cannot come at the expense of the vital humanitarian work we are doing in both Israel and Ukraine to meet the needs of the suffering Jewish people.

So please rush your generous gift today and thank you in advance for standing in the gap for Israel at this prophetic crisis moment.

Your ambassador to Jerusalem,

Dr. Mike Evans

P.S. I want to be sure you know how deeply the suffering people of Israel appreciate your support in these difficult days. Over and over, they say things like, “I am not alone” or “I have hope.” That powerful message is sent by your generous gifts that make our vital work possible. I look forward to hearing from you very soon.

Fighting the Spirit War for Israel’s Survival

God has called the Jerusalem Prayer Team to stand in the gap for Israel during the current crisis. To help fight and win the spirit war that is raging, we are launching the Jerusalem World Prayer Center even as we continue our vital humanitarian outreaches to the suffering Jewish people. All of this is only possible as friends like you stand with us in this great cause. Please be as generous as you can when you give today.

YES, Dr. Evans, I want to do my part to fight and win the spiritual battle and help meet the urgent needs of the suffering Jewish people.
