Together we can show true Christian love in action

Dear Friend,

Even though I was just here in October, I had to come back to Israel again because the needs are so urgent, and the threat is so great.

The nation of Israel has had to fight to survive every day since the miracle rebirth of the Jewish state in 1948.

But never in all those years of threats and raids and attacks and even full-scale war has the threat to the survival of Israel been more severe.

I’ve been in Israel for every major war since 1982. I’ve seen the rockets fly overhead. I’ve heard the explosions. I’ve prayed with the soldiers. I’ve wept with the families who lost loved ones. I’ve seen Israel in moments of extreme danger and crisis.

I’ve never seen it like this.

In the last week, 23 Israeli soldiers were killed, leaving 56 children without a father. These were not professional soldiers but reservists called into duty for the war, who perished defending their nation.

The nation of Israel is suffering incredible trauma. They face Iran and seven terrorist proxies. There are still 101 people being held hostage in Gaza.

Israel needs us right now.

You may remember I was in Israel when Iran launched almost 200 ballistic missiles last month. That is just the tip of the iceberg.

Iran has spent billions of dollars building up its military and supplying terrorist proxies like Hamas and Hezbollah with weapons to attack Israel. Iran has received major upgrades to both their offensive and defensive military capability from Russia, in exchange for help attacking Ukraine.

Now those advanced weapons of war are on the brink of being unleashed. Iran is desperately trying to keep Israel from stopping its nuclear weapons program.

The attacks against Israel, and the way so much of the world has turned against the Jewish state, have left the people here feeling isolated and alone. They see the news stories from Europe and America of massive rallies in support of those who are murdering Jews.

They see organizations like the International Criminal Court and the United Nations supporting those who are trying to kill them, and blaming them — and even threatening to prosecute them — for defending themselves against attacks.

The suffering Jewish people need hope. They need help. They need us now more than ever.

I am back in Tzfat (Safed), the “city on a hill” that Jesus talked about in the Sermon on the Mount. It is the highest city in the Galilee region, and it has been the target of repeated attacks.

I visited here on my last trip to Israel, and the need was heartbreaking.

Mayor Yossi Kakon took me to some of the bomb shelters here where elderly Russian Jews are living full time. They stay in the shelters full time because residents only have 30 seconds to get to safety when the warning sirens go off…and they can’t move that fast. A number of them were sleeping on the floor in these cramped little rooms.

To make matters even worse, almost 3,000 school children do not have adequate shelters to take cover in the event of an attack. Some days they don’t have school at all because these precious little ones would not be safe.

So I told Mayor Kakon that we would do all we can to help. I’ve brought some of that help with me, but there is still so much more that needs to be done.

There are schools that still need bomb shelters. There are bomb shelters that need beds…and food and water and so much more. There are homeless refugees who need housing. There are young IDF soldiers dealing with physical and emotional injuries suffered defending their nation. There are families still hoping and praying their loved ones being held hostage will somehow still come home.

There are still poor Holocaust survivors wondering how they will be able to pay to heat their tiny apartments and still buy enough food to eat. There are children who don’t know when they will be able to go back to school.

There is an entire nation of people wondering if anyone cares.

Today I’m asking you to join hands with us as we shout “YES” and tell — and more importantly show — them that they are truly not alone.

The only way we can do that is if generous friends like you help make it possible. I want us to keep being able to respond when we receive urgent pleas for help.

I don’t want to ever have to say no to someone reaching out, but instead show them true Christian love in action.

Please rush your gift today so that precious suffering Jewish people can be helped. I look forward to hearing from you very soon.

Your ambassador to Jerusalem,

Dr. Mike Evans

P.S. So many times while I’ve been here in Israel people have thanked me for what we are doing, but they really aren’t thanking me. I’m just here as your ambassador, delivering the help your love and generous spirit have provided. Thank you so much for the powerful impact you are having on the whole House of Israel with your support of the vital work of the Jerusalem Prayer Team. God bless you for blessing His Chosen People.

My Gift of Love for God’s Chosen People

The Jewish people feel isolated and alone, and there is no more important message we can send them than to let them know that Christian friends are standing with them in their hour of suffering and need. Together we are meeting the most urgent humanitarian needs of the people of Israel, and together we are building a great global prayer movement to fight the spirit war that is raging. None of this is possible without the help of friends like you, so please be as generous as you can when you send your gift today.

YES, Dr. Evans, I want to do my part to reach out to the suffering Jewish people and show them they are not alone in this prophetic crisis hour.
