Show True Christian Love in Action

Dear Friend,

Shalom, shalom from your home in the Holy City, your Friends of Zion Center.

This has been such a busy place the last few days because of your love and compassion. The Jewish people have come here to Jerusalem to say thank you for the way you have touched the lives of hostages and their families and the victims of terrorist attacks.

We were asked to host the official event to celebrate the inauguration of President Trump at FOZ, and I can tell you that people in Israel are thrilled that they once again have a true friend in the Oval Office.

Nowhere is that seen more clearly than in the ceasefire and release of some of the hostages by Hamas. There is no question this action is directly related to President Trump’s declaration that there would be “hell to pay” if the hostages were not freed.

But the joy of that release was tempered for so many precious families who received the bodies of their loved ones who had been killed by Hamas and their allies. They at least know what happened, but the grieving process is just beginning.

We hosted some of these families at Friends of Zion, and the toll of more than 450 days of dread, uncertainty, and worry was plain to see.

Some of the family members had lost up to 50% of their body weight from the stress and not being able to eat. The living hostages who were freed endured unspeakable torment during their captivity, and they face years of physical and emotional healing.

As I prayed and rejoiced and wept with these precious people, I could hear the ancient command God gave to Isaiah ringing in my ears: “Comfort ye, comfort ye My people.”

That’s what I’m asking you to do today.

It is impossible to overstate the devastating impact of the war on the Jewish people.

So many tens of thousands had their homes damaged or destroyed. Hundreds of thousands of reservists were called up to active duty…and hundreds gave their lives or were severely injured.

Businesses closed down. Buildings were bombed. Employees were lost. And of course the tourism industry, which plays a vital role in Israel’s economy, has been almost completely shut down.

There are so many families who are struggling.

I stood with some of them…and thanks to the help of generous friends like you, we were able to show them true Christian love in action, reaching out to help meet their most urgent needs.

Put yourself in their place for a moment. Picture your spouse kissing you goodbye and heading into a war zone for months. Picture having no way to pay the bills because the breadwinner of the family had to leave his job behind. Picture having to wear the same clothes day after day because you had to leave your home with only what you were wearing. Picture explaining to your children why daddy isn’t there…or why daddy isn’t ever going to be coming home again.

I can’t get the faces of the suffering people out of my mind.

And the truth is we are getting far more requests for help than we can answer.

Every day we get calls and emails and visits from people who have nowhere else to turn.

We are doing all that we can, but there is so much more that needs to be done.

There is an epidemic of poverty striking at Israel’s most vulnerable, the very old and the very young. There are families visiting graves of those gone too soon. There are families who have no homes left and don’t know where they will live.

They are truly “the least of these,” and they desperately need our help right now. They need everything. Food, clothing, medicine, housing, counseling…the list goes on and on.

I said something to one Jewish leader about the people dealing with PTSD. He said, “Mike, it’s not PTSD…because it isn’t post. The trauma is still going on!”

Will you reach out and show God’s love in action to suffering Jewish people today?

The people I talked to are blessing your name. They know the impact you are making on their lives. For some of them, it is the very first time they have ever seen or received an act of love from a Believer.

We must continue this great work, and that means we must have your help. Please send your Holy Spirit-led gift right away as we continue to stand in the gap for Israel together.

Your ambassador to Jerusalem,

Dr. Mike Evans

P.S. The ceasefire only addresses Iran’s terrorist proxies Hamas and Hezbollah. The threat of a nuclear Iran is one Israel cannot allow…and that means there is very likely more fighting still to come. Whatever happens, we will be there on the front line doing all we can to help…but we can’t do it without you.  Please rush your generous gift today so that we can continue to comfort God’s Chosen People as He commands.

Comfort God’s Chosen People

Together we are reaching out to suffering Jewish families who lost their homes…their jobs…their loved ones and have nowhere else to turn for help. Your gift will provide food, medicine, clothing, housing, counseling, and so much more to people in desperate need.  Your Friends of Zion Center is a great lighthouse of Christian love, and we are asking you to keep that light shining brightly.

YES, Dr. Evans, I want to do my part to comfort those who are mourning in Zion.
