Together we can ease their suffering
Dear Friend,
Just after the war started, the director of your Friends of Zion Center, Nir Kimhi, sent me a letter—a letter he wrote in a bomb shelter. This courageous man is leading our response on the ground in Israel.
I wanted to share his words with you because it is a first-hand account you won’t see anywhere else.
My friend Prime Minister Netanyahu said that Iran had enough nuclear material to build a bomb in just seven days…and nine bombs in eight weeks. That’s why Israel had to strike.
But Iran continues to attack. The missile that Iran fired that hit the Soroka Medical Center was aimed at the Dimona Nuclear Power Plant.
This hospital treats over 100,000 people per year, and it has been a primary evacuation center for the treatment of people injured in the war.
We are receiving urgent appeals for help. Another missile destroyed the ALEH Rehabilitation Center that helps disabled children and young adults.
I am asking you today to be as generous as you possibly can so that we have the resources to meet the staggering needs of suffering Jewish people.
The toll the war has taken on Israel is like nothing we have seen before in our lifetimes, and the ancient call of God to comfort His Chosen People has never sounded more loudly.
We are receiving urgent appeals for food boxes as well. Roughly two million people in Israel already lived below the poverty line, and things have gotten worse because of the war. Many of them are children and senior adults. Many of them are Russian Jews who moved to the border area near Gaza because it was the only place they could afford to live.
Everything the Jerusalem Prayer Team does in Israel and around the world is only possible because of friends like you.
So please let me hear from you right away.
We can’t stop now!
Your ambassador to Jerusalem,

Dr. Mike Evans
P.S. Please pray in a special way for Nir and our Rapid Response team members who are putting their lives on the line every day, going where the needs are greatest. And please pray for the peace of Jerusalem more than ever. The danger is real, and victory is the only option Israel has.
Nir Kimhi’s First-Hand Account from Jerusalem
Jerusalem, June 15 2025
Dear Partner,
My name is Nir Kimhi. I am an eleventh generation Jerusalem resident and the director of your Friends of Zion Heritage Center.
I’m writing from a bomb shelter here in Jerusalem where I am with my family.
I want you to understand what is going on in the state of Israel with the Iranian attacks.
Here is the update we got this morning from the IDF:
While Israel is attacking in Iran in a targeted manner, in order to eliminate its nuclear and missile threats and harming the senior commanders responsible, the Iranian terrorist regime fires indiscriminately towards civilian population centers, with the intention of killing innocent people and causing destruction and devastation. Ten civilians were killed last night as a result of the missiles fired from Iran – 6 in Bat Yam, 4 in Tamra. Three of the victims were children. Over 200 people were injured in varying degrees of severity in three different impact sites; efforts to locate missing persons are ongoing in the impact site in central Israel. 13 civilians have so far been murdered by Iranian rocket fire.
The Iranian missile fire is further proof of the necessity of action against the Iranian regime and the weapon arsenal it has built, aimed at harming Israeli citizens. This aggression will be met with force – we will not tolerate any threat or harm to our sovereignty or citizens.
The public is requested to adhere to the Home Front Command’s guidelines on its official channels – they save lives. Also, the public is called upon to act responsibly and not publish or share documentation or location details from impact sites. Such information helps the enemy improve its capabilities.
We will not allow a regime whose declared goal is the destruction of Israel to possess weapons of mass destruction and threaten our very existence. For years, the Iranian regime has been promoting terrorist activities against the State of Israel, by developing nuclear weapons and advanced weapons, as well as funding and guiding its terror proxies across the Middle East. Intelligence gathered over the years, especially during the war, has pointed to a concrete plan by Iran aimed at destroying Israel, with its leaders constantly publicly declaring this intention. Now, when Iran is closer than ever to obtaining nuclear weapons, and we have reached the point of no return, we have no choice but to act to defend ourselves.
Schools and synagogues are closed, along with most businesses. Hospitals are delaying elective procedures, and releasing patients to prepare for expected casualties.
Since the beginning of the war, we redirected a significant portion of our Friends of Zion resources to support Israel’s home front. This includes hosting evacuees from the north and south, organizing weekly happenings for displaced families, hosting live performances for security forces and reservists, and providing aid to families in need. All of this has been done alongside our ongoing community work supporting Holocaust survivors, widows, and orphans across Israel.
You make it possible with your support, and it means the world to us.
Sincerely yours,
Nir Kimhi
P.S. We are not waiting for the war to end—our Rapid Response teams are already spreading out to help those in greatest need. This is our mission, and we will not fail.
STAND WITH THE SUFFERING JEWISH PEOPLE
All across Israel people are suffering today. The waves of missiles attacks…the devastation of homes and apartments… the injuries and deaths…are because the mullahs of Tehran are doing all they can to destroy Israel. In this hour of urgent need, the Jerusalem Prayer Team is there on the front lines with our Rapid Response teams going out to help all we can. Your gift makes all of this possible, and there is so much more that needs to be done, so please be as generous as you can with your support today.
YES, Dr. Evans, I see the suffering of God’s Chosen People, and I want to do my part to help the Jerusalem Prayer Team meet their urgent needs.
