Together We Must Fight Rising Anti-Semitism

Dear Friend,

I am heartbroken. I am troubled. I fear for the future — the world that our children and grandchildren will inherit — unless we act right now.

Anti-Semitism is not new. It is an ancient evil. Pharaoh tried to eliminate the Jewish people by killing all the baby boys. Rome dispersed Jewish people, forbidding them to live in Israel in hopes that they would vanish. Hitler set out to enact the “final solution” and slaughtered six million Jewish men, women, and children before he was finally stopped.

My great-grandfather, Rabbi Mikel Katz-Nelson — for whom I was named — was burned to death inside his synagogue in what is now Belarus along with 2,000 other Jews, including the grandfather of Shimon Peres, Israel’s 9th president and the international chairman of Friends of Zion until his death.

As they screamed and died in torment, the people outside celebrated. That is what anti-Semitism does. And we are seeing it spread before our eyes.

Just a few days ago Zohran Mamdani, a radical Islamic anti-Semite who refuses to support the existence of Israel as a Jewish state, was elected mayor of New York City…which has the largest Jewish population in the world outside of Israel. Before the election, Mamdani promised that if he were elected and Prime Minister Netanyahu came to New York, he would have Israel’s leader arrested and sent to the International Criminal Court.

That didn’t stop him from winning…in fact, some analysts believe his public hatred toward Israel was one of the main reasons he did win. When anti-Semitism becomes a winning campaign strategy in America, there is a huge problem.

And this rise in Jew-hatred is not just on the left of our politics. Tucker Carlson recently platformed a notorious anti-Semite and Holocaust denier…and then was defended by the Heritage Foundation, one of the leading right-wing think tanks in the country. Carlson said, “I despise Christian Zionists more than anyone on earth…Christian Zionism is a dangerous heresy within Christianity – a kind of ‘brain virus’ infecting the church.”

Zionism is the belief in the Jewish people’s right to return to their homeland. A Christian Zionist should simply be defined as a Christian who supports the Jewish people’s right to return to their homeland and the Bible. 

The biblical foundation for Christian Zionism is found in God’s Covenant with Abraham. It was in this covenant that God chose Abraham to birth a nation through which He could redeem the world. To accomplish this, He bequeathed them a land in which they could exist as this chosen nation. That is why we must stand with Israel.

America has supported and helped Jewish people since before this nation was born. America played a key role in the rebirth of the Jewish state in 1948. And America has been crucial to Israel’s survival in the almost eight decades of war and threats that followed.

All that is changing before our eyes…just like it did before.

In February of 1920, Hitler presented his 25 point Nazi party platform, which stated, “the party advocates for positive Christianity and combats the Jewish materialistic spirit within and around us.” What is being said today about Israel and the Jews is worse than what the Nazi party said in 1920!

Christians are not immune from these lies. The German Protestant church birthed out of the Great Reformation was poisoned by the Nazi party to believe that God sent the Chancellor (Hitler) to bring prosperity and patriotism. They put swastikas on their altars. Replacement theology, a belief that God canceled all His promises to the Jews, became the poison that fertilized the ovens of Auschwitz. 

That’s why we’re launching the Ambassador Program. In just a few days, I’ll be flying to Israel to meet with 1,000 pastors and leaders from around the world, but mostly here in the United States. We are equipping and inspiring them to reach out to young people with the truth to counter the anti-Semitism and lies being spread, especially on social media.

I can tell you in advance when I stand up for Israel and lead the 1,000 pastors, I’m going to be attacked in a way I’ve never been attacked before by both the radical left and the radical right. They will slander me with evil lies and may even threaten my life. But I am not afraid. I am doing what God called me to do, and with His favor and your partnership, I will smile through the fire.

God told me, “I’m going to give you the nation of Israel, but the price of admission is unspeakable evil and betrayal, and when it comes, don’t play the victim.”

The Ambassador Program is vital. There is nothing more important we can do for Israel right now than reach the next generation with the truth. If we do not, America will follow the nations of Europe into the darkness of anti-Semitism, and the results will be tragic for Israel.
