Help Comfort the “Least of These”

Dear Friend,

Thanks to you, the greatest witness of Christian love since the days of the early church took place last month, with a thousand pastors being commissioned as ambassadors. They are prepared and trained now to be salt and light and join the fight against anti-Semitism.

You know how much God has allowed us to do with one ambassador — now there are more than 1,000 — and soon there will be even more as the Ambassador Program continues to grow.

I’ve never seen a more powerful move of the Holy Spirit than I saw while I was in Israel. At the site of the Nova Music Festival massacre, we sang “Amazing Grace” to released hostages and held them in tears.

At the Kotel, the Western Wall, we put the names of the Israelis massacred on October 7th in the cracks of the wall and prayed for their families with the chief rabbi of the Kotel. On Mount Herzl, we met with the widows of the soldiers who gave their lives fighting for Israel since October 7th. We put flowers and flags on the grave sites and prayed with and for those who are grieving.

This ministry is doing so much to comfort the nation, but there is so much more that needs to be done. While I was there, I received so many urgent, urgent appeals. Because of the unspeakable war, Israelis are suffering.

As you may know, a million and a half Russian Jews came to Israel. A large percentage of them live in the south, where the bombs have been going off from Gaza for well over a decade. I’ve been told that a large percentage of them have post-traumatic stress. And they’re very, very poor people. Many of them came to Israel with just one suitcase holding everything they owned.

They’re urgently needing our help. The same is true for the widows and orphans and the precious Holocaust survivors we’ve been helping in the nation of Israel. There are so many others in need, like the hostage families who have post-traumatic stress. The list goes on and on.

The Lord is calling us to stand in the gap and comfort “the least of these,” and that is what Friends of Zion is doing every single day. With the cold of winter here, our humanitarian outreaches are more vital now than ever.

Over more than two years of war since the deadly Hamas invasion on October 7, 2023, so many people in Israel have lost so much. Tens of thousands had their homes damaged or destroyed, losing almost everything they owned. There are more widows and orphans in Israel today than at any time in the history of the nation.

Because of the long time period of the fighting, tens of thousands of reservists have been activated, leaving behind their families and the jobs to defend their country. In many cases, they are the main breadwinner for the family, and this loss of work and pay has put an incredible strain on so many people.

So many precious people are dealing with post-traumatic stress. Even now with the ceasefire, there are still frequent missile warnings and explosions. Every one triggers the pain of what has come before.

The Jewish people, the “least of these,” urgently need our help right now.

Frankly, the government of Israel is stretched to the limit. They are spending billions on defending their people from constant attacks and threats. They simply can’t meet all these needs.

God is calling us to step up and help. Jesus said that whatever we do for His Jewish brothers and sisters is done for Him. You and I would never let our grandparents, parents, children, or grandchildren go to bed hungry at night. We would not leave them outside to sleep if they had no home. We would not let them shiver in the cold of winter.

As you read this letter today, there are suffering Jewish people who are hungry, cold, homeless, scared, and wondering if anyone cares. I’m asking you to reach out to them in Christian love and let them know that they are not forgotten.

We are doing a lot to battle anti-Semitism around the world. But we must not forget “the least of these.”

Your Friends of Zion Center is almost like 9-1-1 here in America. Jewish people call us when they’re in trouble and don’t know where to turn for help. Together we are creating a great lighthouse of Christian love that is shining brightly across the nation.

But we must not just continue our efforts but increase them as the needs continue to mount. And the only way we can do that is with the help of friends like you.

Despite the fact that he horribly abused me and my mother, I took care of my father in the final years of his life. I paid for his housing and food and more. That demonstration of Christian love in action was an act of forgiveness, and it reached his heart not long before he died.

Will you show true Christian love in action to the suffering people of Israel today? They know they are hated. They see evidence all around them every day. They are hated, slandered, and attacked on a regular basis.

They need to know that they are loved…that they are not alone. They need you to send them that message with your generous gift for Friends of Zion so that we can do even more to help those in need. Please let me hear from you as soon as possible, and thank you in advance for your generous response. God bless you.

Your ambassador to Jerusalem,

Dr. Mike Evans

P.S. The year has just started, but already we’ve seen a dramatic increase in requests for help. The cold of winter is here, and that makes things even worse for those who are struggling. Your gift today will be a warm blanket around cold shoulders, a good meal for a hungry stomach, and hope for a hurting heart.

There are thousands of Jewish people, including elderly Holocaust survivors, who are struggling to find a place to live, food to eat, and warm clothing for the winter. The impact of more than two years of war did not go away with a ceasefire agreement. We are being flooded with requests for help, and we want to say yes to as many as we can, but we can’t do that without your help. Please show your Christian love for God’s Chosen People in action through your generous gift today.

YES, Dr. Evans, I want to do my part to make sure Friends of Zion can help as many suffering Jewish people as possible. My special gift is:
