We Must Stand With God’s Chosen People
Dear Friend,
Shortly after the horrific Hanukkah attack in Bondi Beach, Australia, I got a phone call from my friend Rabbi Yisroel Goldstein. We became friends almost six years ago after the deadly Passover terror attack on his synagogue in Poway, California. One member of the congregation was killed, and Rabbi Goldstein was injured by the shooter.
In fact, when we met in person for the first time at the White House a few weeks later, he still had the bandage on his injured hand. When I asked him what his people needed most, he told me how his people feared another attack. So our Friends of Zion partners paid for 24-hour security guards for the synagogue and school.
Later on he conducted my bar mitzvah, which my Jew-hating father refused to allow when I was a boy. Instead of doing it at 13 like normal, I had my bar mitzvah at 73! We still stay in touch.
When Rabbi Goldstein called me, he was weeping. The Hanukkah celebration was being led by his niece’s husband, Rabbi Eli Schlanger, who was one of the victims of the attack. Just 41 years old, Rabbi Schlanger left behind his wife and five children.
I wept and prayed with my friend. But after I hung up the phone, a holy anger rose in my heart.
The evil words of anti-Semites are getting Jewish people killed.
From this latest attack in Australia to the synagogue shooting in London to attacks right here in America, innocent lives are being lost because of the lies being told about God’s Chosen People.
I know this story all too well. I grew up hearing about my great-grandfather, Rabbi Mikel Katz-Nelson, who was burned to death inside his synagogue with 2,000 other people. The crowd outside celebrated as they perished in the flames. I visited the site in what is now Belarus a few years ago, and it was like standing in history.
But the Jew-hatred that brought about the death of my great-grandfather and six million other Jewish men, women, and children in the Holocaust is alive and well today.
And tragically, those of us who are standing against that evil are being attacked.
Tucker Carlson attacked me by name and said Christian Zionists are the people he hates more than anyone else.
Imagine that! He says he hates us more than Hamas terrorists and radical Islamic murderers. It’s outrageous. The pastors and leaders who attended our Ambassador Summit in Israel last month were hit with a massive and coordinated online attack even before they got home.
All the lies and slanders are not harmless words. They encourage and incite people to take action against Jewish people. And the people telling these lies know exactly what they are doing.
Murderous attacks are not accidental. That is exactly what the Jew-haters are hoping for when they launch their media assaults against God’s Chosen People.
When I was in Israel for the Ambassador Summit, I met with my dear friend Prime Minister Netanyahu. One of the main things we discussed was the social media war that is being waged against Israel and the critical need for a response.
The state of Israel is urgently asking for our help.
That’s why we’re stepping up our social media presence and programs. That’s why we’re developing and launching online tools to train friends of Israel to effectively raise their voices against the tide of lies. That’s why we’re expanding our Ambassador Program to recruit and train leaders to use their influence on behalf of the Jewish state and the Jewish people.
Our colleges and universities have been poisoned by radical Islam. We are working on plans to bring 1,000 students to Israel and train them to go back as ambassadors for the Jewish people just as we have already done with pastors and leaders. They can then go back to counter the lies that are turning young people away from supporting Israel.
Scripture does not permit neutrality when God’s covenant people are targeted. Faith does not allow silence in the face of injustice. This is not a moment for hesitation. It is a moment for obedience.
This is not only a political or cultural crisis. It is a spiritual one.
From the beginning, God made His intentions clear. He chose the Jewish people. He bound Himself to them by covenant. And He called those who follow Him to honor that covenant — not for personal gain, but out of faithfulness and love.
Our responsibility has never been to calculate outcomes. Our responsibility is to respond faithfully.
That conviction is the foundation of everything Friends of Zion does. Friends of Zion is not standing on the sidelines. We are at the forefront of the fight against anti-Semitism…meeting it directly, boldly, and faithfully. Our response is not partial or symbolic. It is complete, deliberate, and rooted in God’s Word.
Anti-Semitism today is fueled by falsehoods that spread faster than truth, especially on social media…lies about Israel…lies about Jewish history…lies that disguise hatred as justice. Friends of Zion confronts these falsehoods directly, exposing evil for what it is and bringing truth where confusion has taken hold. Silence allows lies to grow. We refuse to be silent.
I know you know the promises of God. God said, “I’ll bless them that bless thee, and curse them that curse thee” (Genesis 12:3). America must not turn its back on Israel, or the judgment of God will fall upon our nation. The loudest voices being heard today in America are voices of podcasters for Israel haters and supporters of radical Islam. We have got to stand up to this.
President Trump, in my opinion, is the greatest president in American history supporting the state of Israel. But I don’t believe that support will continue if he doesn’t believe that we’re standing with Israel. That’s why your voice needs to be heard.
The Bible says the people that do know their God shall be strong and do exploits. Daniel certainly did as he fought a tremendous battle in Persia against principalities and powers. We’re fighting these same demonic forces now.
We’ve made enormous steps of faith without first raising the funds, but I cannot harden my heart to my people when they’re crying out in such pain.
Our ability to continue to respond to these attacks and train defenders of Israel depends on the support of friends like you. Your prayers and gifts are the fuel that keeps this great worldwide prayer movement going strong.
And as we launch into a new year of standing in the gap for Israel, I’m asking for your help. Your generous gift today is a vital support as we step up to answer God’s ancient call, “Whom shall I send?” with “Hineni—here am I” just as Isaiah did. Thank you in advance for your generous response.
Your ambassador to Jerusalem,

Dr. Mike Evans
P.S. When words are getting innocent Jewish people killed, we must not remain silent. I’m asking you to speak out loudly with your gift today so that we can do more than ever before to bless and defend God’s Chosen People.
I Will NOT Be Silent
With the enemies of Israel working around the world, we are asking you, our friend and partner, to raise your voice in support of God’s Chosen People. Your financial support makes it possible for us to carry out social media campaigns, recruit new voices for Israel through our Ambassador Program, and so much more. Please be as generous as possible when you give today.
YES, Dr. Evans, I want my voice to be heard in support of Israel.
